We’ve had a lot going on…we were hiring an AI engineer from Google, and we were also working on partnership deals that I have not announced publicly yet,” Kim says. “I think in hindsight, maybe if we could have offered it in the app earlier, that would have been better.” She says her team may have underestimated how many customer service people Tomo needed. Yet for all of Tomo’s purported financial success, the 30-person startup has a tiny customer service team of just five people, only three of them in the U.S. Until just last week in its app and on its website, there was no online option to cancel, even though customers have been complaining about the issue for at least a year. Kim says she was focused on the development of what she considers Tomo’s most valuable intellectual property–a proprietary credit score it has developed, which she hopes will compete with the ubiquitous FICO score.

Last November, Brigit, a New York fintech that offers cash advances of up to $250 for $8.99 a month, was forced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to refund $18 million to its customers. The FTC alleged that Brigit used deceptive practices in offering cash advances and made it too hard to cancel subscriptions. Tomo CEO Kim says her customer service team had “good intentions” and aimed to understand why customers were dissatisfied.
This company is fraudulent…
Dont wait your money save yourself the headache. The monthly subscription couldve gone to paying down my credit instead… Nine-year-old digital bank Albert, whose website claims it has over 10 million users, has also seen a spike in customer complaints. Rhonda Hudgins, a 62-year-old Georgia resident, had been using the app in 2020 for its small-dollar loans and wanted to log in again last year to see if she had any money remaining how to buy quant in her account. She says Albert required her to sign up for its paid version, which cost her at least $9.99 a month, just to see how much money she had left. After she paid for that access, she tried to cancel using the option provided through Albert’s app.

I use this card at least once a month and my credit is good (780s). Today I tried to use it and it said the card was canceled. Checked on their site and sure enough I can’t use the card anymore. Says it still reports my credit line but I can no longer use the card. Claim your profile to access Trustpilot’s free business tools and connect with customers.
Paid like $600 bucks for VIP service for $30,000 credit reporting, I’m going on over 4 months and no reporting yet. I tried to contact customer service with little to no response. When the do respond, the just ask question but don’t do anything, then they stop respond and close the service ticket. Difficulty canceling isn’t the only issue unhappy Tomo customers have raised. In its online description of its top-tier VIP plan, the first bullet says Tomo offers “up to $30,000 credit line.” But in consumer complaints, many Tomo users say the how to buy hive credit line never appeared on their credit history.
But she says it didn’t work, the same way it didn’t work when she tried to cancel in 2021. Both times, she had to call Albert and tell them to cancel for it to stick. I had no issues it was fine then a week or two ago they started emailing me saying I owed $189. I kept trying to call and every time I called it would just go right to a voicemail saying they no longer take calls. I emailed them and sent them screenshots of my zero dollar balance just proved I don’t owe anything.
Inthe summer of 2023, 55-year-old Michigan resident Felisa Ware was hoping to improve her credit so she could buy a bigger house where her ailing mother could live with her. She signed up for a subscription service from TomoCredit. After six months, Ware decided Tomo’s “VIP” plan wasn’t worth the $34.99 a month she was paying for it. (Tomo typically charges an exorbitant $129.99 a month for this tier of service–Ware used a promotion to get a lower price.) Yet when she looked in Tomo’s app and on its website, she couldn’t find an option to cancel.
- Now, I filed a complaint with the Attorney General because I do not know what to do at this point because I’m just going in circles.

There’s no way for me to disconnect my bank account online because the only way you can disconnect anything is to call them and they won’t take any calls…. I really don’t know what to do but I want my bank account and SS number away from this shitty service IMMEDIATELY. I am at my wits end with this company and I need to scream at someone on the phone lol.

The Tomoboost product they are advertising doesn’t and can’t exist as their data sharing privilages have been revoked by TransUnion, Experian and Equifax, yet they are still advertising and accepting sign-ups and payments. I signed up in and paid for TomoBoost in September, two weeks later I saw nothing had reported on any of my credit reports. After performing a quick search in an attempt to find out how long it would take to show up on my report I came across the news that their data reporting access had been revoked by all of the big three bureaus and they’d all ended their partnerships with Tomo. After learning of this I requested a refund in which I was told, their terms did not allow for refunds, I said well you sold me a fraudulent service. At that point they deleted my account on their support site so that I could no longer view, respond or create support tickets.
Horrible, avoid this company
We use dedicated people and clever technology to safeguard our platform. I don’t know what they have done but Tomoboost is the truth☺️ Since I’ve been using it, my knowledge of my credit standing has grown immensely 5stars. Companies on Trustpilot can’t offer incentives or pay to hide any reviews.
This is a fraudulent and unethical company who seems to be pulling off a money grab in order to make their exit. So, find another listed customer service number for Tomo online and I call it and it’s just a scam number trying to sell me something and as soon as I say I’m not interested please connect me to Customer Service they just hang up on me. Now, I filed a complaint with the Attorney General because I do not know what to do at this point because I’m just going in circles. Trying to email them, ping them, and call them and they WILL NOT ANSWER anything. I even called the home office in San Francisco and they said they can’t help….
